I build software - mostly back-end systems and infrastructure - and I've been at it for more than 25 years across energy, financial services, government and enterprise. These days, most of that work happens alongside AI coding agents rather than despite them, where I chase the sweet spot: give the agent plenty of rope to run with, while keeping an iron grip on the design and code it hands back

Cutting Aurora Energy Research's compute bill by ~$1M a year

Led the migration of the core engine execution environment from Amazon EC2 to a hybrid on-premises / EC2 architecture, powering Aurora's commercial energy modelling and forecasting platform.

Reduced annual compute spend by nearly $1M
Built and maintained back-end services for large-scale model execution, result storage and downstream data delivery
Worked within an agentic-first engineering culture, using LLM-based tools throughout design, implementation and review
